National carrier Oman Air has been named ‘Best Design Airline –Middle East 2019’ by TheDesignAir, which showcases the aviation industry from a design and brand perspective.
Abdulaziz Al Raisi, CEO of Oman Air, said: “We are proud to receive this recognition for our emphasis on design that draws on Oman‘s rich, artful heritage to create a modern, appealing look and style in all we do. We concentrate on the overall guest experience, which takes into account all types of layout at every step in the process of travelling with Oman Air, making this award especially gratifying.
“I am also pleased to point out that Oman Air has received significant awards in the past several weeks, including four World Travel Awards on November 28. These awards are a clear indication of the hard work of everyone to deliver ongoing improvements to the airline. We are pleased that our change efforts are starting to bear fruit and that the travelling public is noticing changes to our operations and processes.
“The DesignAir awards were selected by both the public and a panel of experts and frequent travellers looking at every design aspect to celebrate the aviation world’s leaders and game-changers,” said Jonny Clark, creator of TheDesignAir. “Oman Air is a rare gem in the Middle East and the airline has made great strides over the past few years to develop its own design language that is both concise and deft-handedly celebrates its local culture and roots.”
